I am a Clinical Psychologist in private practice in Tamboerskloof, Cape Town and I belong to the following professional bodies:

I am registered at the Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Clinical Psychologist.
I did my Psychotherapy training at the University of Pretoria and my Clinical Internship at Tara hospital in Johannesburg. I worked for Goldfields mining company on the West Rand for almost three years (between 1997 and 2000), after which I moved to Cape Town at the beginning of 2000 to start my private practice. At Goldfields I gained valuable experience in working with families, couples, adult individuals and children who were living through the trauma of substance abuse, family violence, depression, anxiety, displacement, loss and bereavement.
As Psychotherapist I believe in the importance of being empowered to take responsibility for one’s own life. My Psychotherapy approach is Psychoanalytic in nature, focussing on change going beyond the treatment of symptoms. I enjoy working with individuals and couples who want to grow emotionally and I specialize in Individual Psychotherapy with Adults, as well as Couple Psychotherapy.
I enjoy variety in my work and see individuals/couples who are experiencing challenges in their interpersonal relationships, as well as in relation to themselves; individuals/couples who may experience their behaviour as self-limiting or self-defeating; individuals/couples who are finding it hard to express their feelings/emotions; individuals/couples who feel unsure about themselves and/or about the way in which others see them; and individuals/couples who have experienced trauma in their past.
Entering into Psychotherapy is a very important step in one’s life and I understand the commitment it requires. I am committed to my own professional education and development in offering a professional service to my clients.
