Clinical Psychologist in Cape Town (Tokai & City Bowl)
MA Clinical Psychology (NMMU)
I am a clinical psychologist in private practice in both Tokai and Cape Town CBD. I completed my masters in clinical psychology through the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in Port Elizabeth, and completed my internship at Tygerberg Hospital and Stikland Psychiatric hospital. The departments in which I worked and gained experience included Adult Psychiatry Unit, Neuropsychology Department, Child and Family Unit, Eating Disorder Unit and the Alcohol Rehabilitation Unit. I am licensed to practice independently as a clinical psychologist through the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), which requires adherence to strict ethical codes of conduct in order to offer the public a professional service. I am thus accredited to offer professional psychological assistance that is based on formal university-level training and appropriate work and life experience.
I thrive on the diversity that my work offers me and the uniqueness that each individual brings to therapy. I enjoy building a therapeutic relationship with my clients; whether they are adults, adolescents and/or children. I strive to offer supportive psychotherapy in a safe and non-judgemental environment and believe in understanding the person holistically in order to guide the individual to self-awareness and healing.
I deal with a range of psychological problems including:
- Depression
- Anxiety and stress
- Eating disorders
- Bereavement and loss
